Helping Habitat!
Supporting the great Habitat for Humanity Organization
Habitat for Humanity is a housing organization dedicated to building simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with people in need.
This Fall, the ladies of Sigma Phi Zeta chapter volunteered an afternoon to help with light construction work (i.e. hammering, building floors etc...) and light yard maintenance. We had an outstanding time, and felt great helping people!
SPZ Get Engaged, Being the Change
Zetas encourage early voting in the community
Through our GET ENGAGED™ social action program, our sisterhood has mobilized to find new ways to solve old problems that plague the communities we serve. In these uncertain times, we must take action.
SPZ has partnered with The Coalition to Enhance Voter Education, Registration and Mobilization community-based woman's group that meet once a month to discuss ways to impact the community bringing awareness to local issues and concerns.
SPZ got engaged with escorting people in the community to vote early at city hall, and utilizing social media to motivate friends and family to vote on Election Day. The message shared; "Regardless if you are voting for governor
and lieutenant governor or attorney general, mayor or city councilperson...that your vote counts". Zetas encouraged people to take a friend, a neighbor, a family member, or even take a stranger to go vote!
